Mindfulness

What is Meditation or also called Mindfulness?

There are lots of different meanings and explanation of the word 'meditation'.  The latin 'meditator' means to think.
Meditation also called mindfulness is a state of consciousness in which a person goes deep within themselves, focusing the mind and eliminating outside influences to produce a state of deep peace and relaxation.
Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy.

What are the benefits of Mindfulness?

  • reduce levels of stress and anxiety
  • help to reduce physical pain and boost the immune system
  • lower blood pressure and increase blood flow to the brain
  • encourage deep relaxation and feelings of peace
  • focus the mind and promote deep sleep
  • increase concentration
  • enhance creativity and open the mind to new ideas
  • identify and balance emotions
  • can create a deeper understanding and awareness of other people
NB: Regular practice is required at home to move forward and experience the above benefits.
